Descaling directions:

 

  1. Disconnect power to water heater (electricity or gas as per manufacturer).
  2. Shut off main water supply valve to tankless water heating unit.
  3. Close hot and cold water isolation valves and remove service caps (if isolation valves have not been installed on your heater, the heater must be disconnected and drained and the hoses directly to the hot and cold connections.
  4. Clean cold water inlet screen of any sediment or dirt.
  5. Add and mix until completely dissolved the full contents of the descaler into one and half gallons of water in the provided bucket.
  6. Connect one hose to pump's discharge outlet and the other end of the same hose to the cold isolation valve on the tankless water heater.
  7. Connect second hose to the hot isolation valve on the tankless water heater and the other end of the hose directly into the bucket.
  8. Open both the hot and cold isolation valves.
  9. Turn pump on and allow the solution to circulate for 20 minutes for proper cleaning. Never allow pump to run without adequate liquid in bucket or it will damage the pump.
  10. After cleaning is complete turn off the pump.
  11. Close cold isolation valve, remove the hose and replace the service gap.
  12. Remove pump from the bucket and dispose the used cleaning solution.
  13. Flush tankless water heater for 5 minutes or until clear water flow by opening the main water supply, open cold isolation valve and let water pass through hot water valve to drain on the bucket.
  14. Close hot water service valve and remove hose, replace with cap and open hot isolation valve.
  15. Clean cold water inlet screen of any sediment or dirt.
  16. Examine all valves for a final check, afterwards connect power to water heater.
